Sonny Sidhu

Bio:

Sonny was called to the Bar in 2011 and joined the firm shortly thereafter. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Simon Fraser University with a major in Psychology. He then went on to attend Law School at the University of British Columbia and graduated in 2010. Due to a strong desire to help injured victims of motor vehicle accidents, and their families, Sonny chose to article at a respected firm in the lower mainland that primarily practices personal injury law. There he worked under the direct guidance of experience trial counsel and gained considerable exposure to all aspects of the trial process. 

Representative Work:

Sonny has conducted extensive research on various legal issues that arise in personal injury litigation. Some of the topics that he has researched thoroughly include cost of future care and loss of capacity to earn future income claims, and wrongful death claims in which family members can claim damages for the death of a loved one caused by a motor vehicle accident. Other tasks that he has significant experience in include preparing for and arguing Supreme Court Chambers applications, drafting pleadings and witness statements, analyzing accident scenes, and preparing clients for various legal procedures. He has also drafted several mediation briefs involving traumatic brain injury claims that led to large settlements, and acted as junior counsel in a Supreme Court trial case in which the client was awarded a very favourable judgment, several hundred thousand dollars higher than the figure offered by opposing counsel.
